Expected Performance
I have tested 'Egg Mania' on two different PCs: A ten year old PC with a Nvidia GTX 970 to represent an entry level setup; And a four year old PC with an AMD RX 6800xt to represent more of a medium to high end setup.
Performance on the GTX 970 at 1080p with 100% resolution scaling:
- 'Med' settings: 42fps
- 'High' settings: 31fps
- 'Ultra' Settings: 26fps
- 'Slow' Settings: 2fps
Performance on the RX 6800xt at 1080p with 100% resolution scaling:
- 'Med' settings: 215fps
- 'High' settings: 145fps
- 'Ultra' Settings: 115fps
- 'Slow' Settings: 43fps
Please note that the 'resolution scaling' can be set down to 50% for a substantial performance boost.
Known Issues
- The Scoreboard menu, after the player reaches "Game Over" does not always register gamepad input.
- On the first launch, the menus sometimes do not display the "Resolution Scale" or "Frame Rate" correctly. Restarting the game resolves this.
Planned Updates
- Add ambient music to menus and gameplay.
- Enable the Rabbit to jump over chickens in levels.
- Increase enemy speed as the player progresses through levels.
- Fix menu issues on the first launch and ensure that the Scoreboard menu consistently registers gamepad and keyboard input.
- Refine the enemy behavior.
