With a charming 3D-style isometric view, leap over obstacles and dodge feathered foes in this festive chase.

Grab power-eggs to flip the script and send those chickens running! Bursting with cheerful graphics, lively springtime tunes, and addictive gameplay,

Egg-Mania is a treat for retro fans and families alike. Hop into the fun and celebrate the season with endless maze-hopping excitement!

Gameplay Features

  • Play as a bunny rabbit who has to evade chickens to collect Easter Eggs.
  • Collect all of the Eggs in a level to progress to the next one.
  • Collect the wrapped colorful Easter eggs to get a Fire Power-Up that vaporizes the enemies.
  • Egg Mania has 5 unique levels that loop.
  • The four enemy types have unique behavioral patterns to learn.

Controls

Move sideways:

  • ‘a’ and ‘d’ on the keyboard
  • Left Thumbstick

Move up/down:

  • Keyboard 'w' / ‘e’
  • Left Thumbstick

Pause Game

  • Keyboard ‘Esc’
  • Gamepad ‘Right Special’

The menus currently support gamepad navigation. However, note that there is a known issue with the Scoreboard menu after a "Game Over," where it may not always detect gamepad input.

Expected Performance

I have tested 'Egg Mania' on two different PCs: A ten year old PC with a Nvidia GTX 970 to represent an entry level setup; And a four year old PC with an AMD RX 6800xt to represent more of a medium to high end setup.

Performance on the GTX 970 at 1080p with 100% resolution scaling:

  • 'Med' settings: 42fps
  • 'High' settings: 31fps
  • 'Ultra' Settings: 26fps
  • 'Slow' Settings: 2fps

Performance on the RX 6800xt at 1080p with 100% resolution scaling:

  • 'Med' settings: 215fps
  • 'High' settings: 145fps
  • 'Ultra' Settings: 115fps
  • 'Slow' Settings: 43fps

Please note that the 'resolution scaling' can be set down to 50% for a substantial performance boost.

Known Issues

  1. The Scoreboard menu, after the player reaches "Game Over" does not always register gamepad input.
  2. On the first launch, the menus sometimes do not display the "Resolution Scale" or "Frame Rate" correctly. Restarting the game resolves this.

Planned Updates

  • Add ambient music to menus and gameplay.
  • Enable the Rabbit to jump over chickens in levels.
  • Increase enemy speed as the player progresses through levels.
  • Fix menu issues on the first launch and ensure that the Scoreboard menu consistently registers gamepad and keyboard input.
  • Refine the enemy behavior.
